A fond farewell to long-time Children’s Miracle Network at UC Davis director

“WE” will miss you, Jacquie!

Everything Jacquelyn “Jacquie” Miller has done for the past 17 years has been #ForTheKids treated at UC Davis Children’s Hospital. As the first ever director of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN) at UC Davis, Miller has worked tirelessly to help improve the lives of thousands of sick and injured children and their families.

As the anchor of the CMN at UC Davis team, Miller’s energy and enthusiasm paved the way for successful corporate campaigns and generous community giving. The funds raised enabled UC Davis Children’s Hospital to become a world-class facility offering the highest quality of care for our littlest patients.

Miller’s retirement is bittersweet, but the team is excited for her new adventure and we are confident the “CMN at UC Davis that Jacquie built” will continue to thrive, thanks to her efforts. Here are a few tributes from those who worked with her:

“The lives and legacies of the famous grab our attention, but every single one of us leaves a legacy. Jacquie’s incredible three-decade dedication and service to UC Davis Health and 17 years with CMN at UC Davis is a great example. She inspired patients, clinicians, volunteers, donors, leaders and colleagues by what she said and did. Jacquie created, nurtured and shared with us and her influence is a huge gift to the organization and the community.

Jacquie’s commitment to advance healthcare for all – especially for our young patients – made a tremendous difference. Thank you, Jacquie, for sharing your passion and serving others in need.

  • Chong Porter, Associate Vice Chancellor, Development and Alumni Relations

“Jacquelyn Miller is our founding CMN Ambassador for Children here at UC Davis Health. Jacquie’s compassion and love for kids has helped raise millions of dollars to expand our facilities and programs. But more importantly, her passion has helped others understand the importance of UC Davis Children’s Hospital to our community.

Jacquie led many fundraising campaigns, but three amazing programs really put UC Davis Children’s Hospital on the map:

  • Children’s Surgery Center
  • Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)/Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (PCICU).
  • Fetal Care & Treatment Center

The funds Jacquie helped raised through CMN have afforded us the opportunity not only to care for local children in our 33-county service area, but kids from all over the globe, thanks to the world-class care we offer.

Jacquie is so incredibly dedicated to the care of children and has worked tirelessly to create ambassadors to carry on her work. She has taught us all the importance of relationships and just how valuable they truly are.

The children and families treated at UC Davis Children’s Hospital and the CMN at UC Davis team are forever grateful for all you have done to support a safe, loving, compassionate environment so kids can be kids.”

  • Judie Boehmer, Executive Director, Patient Care Services, UC Davis Children’s Hospital

“Jacquie has been the face and spirit of Children’s Miracle Network since the beginning. She’s creative, spunky, full of incredible ideas with a work ethic that just won’t quit. She has this superpower of developing relationships through the mission of the hospital, and then keeping people connected to that mission through joy, sorrow, triumph and resilience. People have loved working with her because they know her heart for kids is big, it’s genuine and it beats loud and proud for raising money that will save and change lives.”

  • Tony Hazarian, Executive Director of Development, UC Davis Medical Center

Congratulations on your retirement, Jacquie! We wish you the best and will forever be grateful to you for your contributions to CMN and UC Davis Children’s Hospital.
