CU4Kids gives nearly $121K donation to UC Davis Children’s Hospital from Wine Auction

The annual California and Nevada Credit Unions for Kids (CU4Kids) Wine Auction for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN) set new records in 2022. The 17th annual fundraiser raised $1.5 million, yielding the largest donation to UC Davis Children’s Hospital to date. A check for $120,923 was presented to CMN at UC Davis leadership at a ceremony last month.

Since 1996, CU4Kids has raised close to $200 million for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

“This is such an incredible donation and we are so grateful,” Program Director of Children’s Miracle Network at UC Davis, Michelle Tafoya, said. “We couldn’t wait to celebrate this generous gift with the credit union representatives in our territory! Their support and enthusiasm for our mission allows us to help more kids get the care they need, when they need it. Thank you, CU4Kids.”

This year’s Wine Auction was back in-person after two years online during the pandemic. This year’s sold-out event saw more than 450 attendees, including representatives from 62 credit unions, business partners and hospitals.

The CU4Kids Wine Auction is the largest single fundraising event, generating more than $12 million since 2006 for CMN Hospitals. This year’s event raised more than $1 million for the eighth consecutive year. Funds raised benefit the 11 Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals in California and Nevada.

Credit Unions for Kids is a nonprofit collaboration of credit unions, chapters, leagues/associations and business partners from across the country, engaged in fundraising activities to benefit CMN, CU4Kids’ charity of choice. Credit unions are the 5th largest sponsor of CMN Hospitals. One hundred percent of every dollar donated by members of the credit union movement goes back to the CMN Hospital which serves the local community.
