Miracle Monday – Our why: Harper

Although she arrived a few weeks early, Harper’s birth was fairly routine. But days later, she went into heart failure and was transferred to UC Davis Children’s Hospital. Harper’s parents were afraid she might not make it. They prepared for the worst.

Diagnosed with truncas arteriosus, little Harper needed immediate surgery. Because she was so small, the operation was even more delicate. But Harper survived and continues to beat the odds today. Now 6 years old and in first grade, she is a powerhouse who shows no signs of slowing down.

Why do we do what we do CMN at UC Davis? Kids like Harper.
