Northern California listeners donate $66,780 to UC Davis Children’s Hospital during annual Lazer Radiothon

Spanish language stations KGRB Lazer 94.3 FM/Regional Mexican, LMG Latino 97.9 FM/KBAA 103.3/Spanish Contemporary and KBBU Radio Lazer 93.9 FM/Regional Mexican teamed up again this year as part of Lazer Broadcasting Network’s Radiothon for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN). Listeners from Sacramento, Modesto, Stockton and Redding donated a total of $66,780 to UC Davis Children’s Hospital during the three-day event in July.

The Sacramento market had the second highest fundraising total in the network, second only to Los Angeles.

“Locally, Lazer Media did a fantastic job, both on air and out in the community,” said Michelle Thompson, associate director of CMN at UC Davis. “The message was so well received. It was awesome to see all the families wanting to give back so their own kids would learn about the power of giving.”

To date, Lazer Broadcasting has raised more than $10 million dollars for children. Funds generated during the Radiothon benefit pediatric patients in UC Davis Children’s Hospital’s 33-county service area.

The Radiothon program has been an integral part of CMN’s fundraising efforts since 1997. More than 300 stations participate in radiothons annually.
