UC Davis Children’s Hospital receives $74,000 from CMN Friendship Invitational

CMN TournamentCommunity members and corporate partners took to the links at the 2018 CMN Friendship Invitational Golf Tournament, raising close to $75,000 to benefit Children’s Miracle Network at UC Davis.

Supporting the nonprofit organization’s mission to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible, this golf event, held this year at El Macero Country Club, has been a favorite of corporate partners and community members alike for a dozen years. Golfer registrations, sponsorships, auction purchases and other charitable donations contributed to the total.

The 2018 golf tournament coincided with the launch of CMN at UC Davis’ superhero campaign, which featured local children and underscored how CMN funds supported their individual care. The impact of this collateral helped participants to understand how donations tie directly to the research, education, equipment and clinical care UC Davis Children’s Hospital provides as a result of donor generosity.

“When people understand exactly how the money is being used and can associate their donations with a child who has been helped, it is really impactful,” said Jacquelyn Mills, senior director of development. “This year’s event was another opportunity for us to illustrate how much of a difference our supporters make and also thank them for their continued support. They are incredible!”

The CMN Friendship Invitational Golf Tournament is just one of many ways CMN at UC Davis continues its commitment to ensuring the health and wellbeing of kids in the hospital’s 33-county service area. Donations stay local and support critical treatments and health care services, pediatric medical equipment and charitable care.

The 13th annual CMN Friendship Invitational, presented by Children’s Miracle Network at UC Davis, ABC10 and 101.5 K-HITS, will be held April 4, 2019 at El Macero Golf Club in Davis.
