Extra Life is the icing on the cake for “OneCakeLady”

Extra Life is SWEET! That’s what Amber Gillespie would say if you asked her about playing games and helping kids.

Known as “OneCakeLady” on Twitter, Amber is part of the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) at UC Davis Extra Life team. After years supporting others online, she decided it was time to put her passion to to good use. Amber plays games to heal kids hospitalized at UC Davis Children’s Hospital, while also helping young gamers who need support.

“Many of these young people are ill themselves or have difficult family lives and often, they feel useless or worthless,” says Amber. “Extra Life gives everyone a chance to make a positive difference in the lives of others. It’s amazing how even a small success, gives them a feeling of accomplishment.”
