Mediathon nets $569,003.80 for UC Davis Children’s Hospital
The annual Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN) Mediathon on ABC10 raised close to$575,000 for UC Davis Children’s Hospital, the local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital in Sacramento. Funds raised stay local, meaning all money donated benefits the children in the 33-county service area served by the hospital.
This year’s Mediathon took place in the new lobby of the Children’s Surgery Center, funded by CMN donations. Live shots and pre-taped stories were broadcast throughout the day and featured inspiring, local stories of pediatric patients treated at UC Davis Children’s Hospital. Corporate sponsors were on site to help with the event, including providing food, beverages and answering phones.

Viewers donated $569,003.80 via the toll-free number, 888-499-KIDS (5437), or by texting “Give4Kids” to 51555. ABC10 also promoted the Mediathon on social media channels including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram using the hashtag #Give4Kids.
Papa Murphy’s Take ‘n’ Bake Pizza also hosted a pizza promotion in front of the hospital, selling $5 large Kids Favorite Pizzas (half cheese and half pepperoni) with a portion of proceeds benefiting UC Davis Children’s Hospital. Sacramento Republic FC representatives were also on site to meet and greet employees and the public.
“There are so many miracles happening daily at UC Davis Children’s Hospital,” said Jacquelyn Mills, senior director of development at Children’s Miracle Network at UC Davis. “By sharing these stories of triumph and survival, we not only let donors see the difference they’re making, we let them see the kids they help. There’s nothing like seeing the hope in a pediatric patient’s eyes and the smile on their face. It’s priceless.”
