Our why: Brooklyn

Brooklyn was a micro-preemie, weighing less than 2 pounds when she was born at a local hospital. She needed emergency heart surgery so rather than transport her to UC Davis Children’s Hospital, a UC Davis pediatric heart surgeon came to her. Although a rare arrangement, it was this local partnership between hospitals that helped save Brooklyn’s life.

Years have passed and Brooklyn has grown up, following in her parents’ athletic footsteps (both played sports for UC Davis). Now in second grade, Brooklyn is the oldest of three girls and is doing well!

Why do we do what we do at Children’s Miracle Network? Kids like Brooklyn.
